I’m having a book signing. This one is in a very different venue. J McLaughlin is a clothing store in University Village, just west of downtown Fort Worth. My daughter’s MIL works there and introduced me to the manager, a retired teacher. We hit it off and she invited me to hold a book signing at her shop. It’s taken a while to get it scheduled, but finally we did. Sunday, November 3 from 3-5 pm. There will be wine and nibbles.
I’ve sent out an email, and the manager is sending an announcement to her clients. I’ll post on FB, Instagram, and Twitter. One thing I learned when I was campaigning for school board (several life-times-ago) is not to get too worried about attendance. While I hope lots of folks show up, I realize the message about my books gets out either way. If you’re in the vicinity, I hope you’ll be able to stop by. I’m going to do a reading from ACT OF TRUST, Book 2 The Second Chances Series around 4, but it’s totally come and go.

On Tuesday, I posted on the Sisterhood of Suspense blog the post, I had intended to write last week, when I got caught up in all the technology stuff. Here’s the link: https://sisterhoodofsuspense.com/2019/10/29/decline-in-retail-stores/
Noom: I’ve been using this app for over a month now. I’ve lost almost 20 lbs from my highest weight. (I had dropped about 8 lbs on my own before starting.) Have a way to go, but I feel so much better. I think my doctor will be pleased when I go see her later this month.
WIP: So far this week, I’ve written 6 K words on my new book, doing 2 hour blocks of writing every day. I’ve got to get my 2 hours in today.
Happy Halloween, y’all and Happy Birthday to my SIL Lance.
If you’re in California, I hope you’re safe. We’ve had winter blow in with nighttime freezing temps. (Fall, a week and a half ago meant 89 degrees!) I’m optimistic the cold and wet will leave and moderate fall temps will return.
Do you like to attend book signings? Are you having fall or have you gone directly to winter? Do you know anyone (besides me 😊 ) who uses Noom? I’ll go into more detail about this app on another post. Love to hear from you.

Good luck with the book signing, Marsha. We’ll be in Seattle visiting our grandgirl (well, and her mom and dad) or I’d try to swing by. Best to you and Bob.

I miss the cool fall weather and colorful foliage. However it snowed there today! I don’t miss that!!

Hey, JQ. I’m not feeling deprived, because I can choose to eat whatever I’d like to. There is nothing entirely off the menu. But, if you’r going to have pizza, you better have planned for it with fewer calories before or after. Better maybe have one of those pizzas with califlour, which is pretty good. I still get wine. About a week ago, I had a small piece of cak–pumpkin spice–ooh yummy! I am hungry often, but I take that as a badge of pride. As to weather, we’ve had the earliest freeze in over 30 years. Now the good thing is it will only last a couple of days. Hopeing the freeze will start our leaves turning. Sorry it’s soooo hot in FL. That’s the pits, I hate the heat. Thanks so much for stopping by.

You must be selling a lot of books with all of the book signings. That’s great!! I’m happy for you.
And congratulations on the weight loss. I was gung ho on losing weight and then it fell to the side. I had watched a series of 12 videos on Alzheimer’s. A big message in them was to decrease your sugar intake dramatically. They called Alzheimer’s, Diabetes 3. I’ll have to get back to trying to lose weight.
Also congrats. on your writing progress. I looked at my calendar today. I have written 15 Chapters on my WIP while travelling, either in the car, on a plane or on a beach. With winter practically here, I’ll finish the last chapters at home of the first draft. I hope to finish the first draft by the end of the year.

Hey, Susan. Not selling a lot of books, but some. I think you;re probably ahead of me in that sphere.
And you’ve always done a better job with your weight than I, never letting it get entirely out of hand, the way I have. And you have a harder situation with Bill the baker right there in your house. LOL
I only wrote a couple hundred words yesterday, Had too many places to go. But I did it today–2700. Very exciting. Think I’ll get it done tomorrow also. I should have a goal to finish by the end of December, but think I’ll shoot for end of January for the first draft. Then the rewrites and edits before sending to a “real” editor. But I’m encouraged I can rrelease sometime in 2020. Thanks so much for stopping by.:)

Good luck with your book signing, Marsha.
That’s really impressive about your word count. I wish I could be as productive, but for some reason I am a very slow writer. I’ve stopped worrying too much about it now. It is what it is. Hope you reach your goal. Good luck!

Hey, Helena. I’m not a fast writer usually, but back in September I did this thing where I committed to write for 2 hours every day for a week, and I cranked about about 14 K words. I’ve always done well when I’ve gone on a retreat without distractions. If I can learn to do it at home, that would make me more productive. Don’t expect to ever release more than one book in a year, even at my fastest, but this is a start. And I totally agree with you. We each have to find what works for us. I”m pantsing this book way more than any other. That’s kind of fun and scary, too. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
