Next Thursday is Thanksgiving. I’ll send my Newsletter out on Tuesday or Wednesday. Figure everyone will be too busy eating, watching football, chatting with family and friends to bother checking out regular blog or Newsletter on my regular day.
Thanksgiving is “My” holiday in our family. My older daughter does Christmas, and my younger daughter does Easter. Everyone gets a chance to play host and no one gets imposed on to “always” have the family.
We are having a gorgeous Fall.
Boothbay Harbor, Maine a couple of years ago.
The Wichita Falls West family can’t come this year, and we will really miss them. But you have to share with others. 😊 Regardless, one of the granddaughters will insist we play Word Salad even though we won’t have as many people. Last summer when she was here a lot, she insisted that just the two of us play it. So, I’m sure that will be on the menu again this year.
Word Salad is a version of Charades, but it’s played in three rounds. The first round, you can use all the words you can find to get across the words/phrases you draw. The second round you can only use one word. The last round you act out with no words. A great deal of laughter ensues.
Are there games or special activities that your family do every year at this time?
We’ll talk food in my Newsletter and about the last book signing.
In the meantime, don’t forget to check out NN Light’s Snuggle Up with These Books blog with two of my books. Great #Giveaway opportunities!! Check out other authors, too. Great way to find Christmas gifts. If you want to give any of my books just email me or check them out on Amazon. Here are the two links.

Happy Thanksgiving, Marsha!! Enjoy the time with your family. ❤
Back in the day on holidays with our relatives, my siblings and I would have played a German card game called Sheepshead at night while our parents would be visiting in the living room. Loved our holidays.
Our son Peter is hosting an early Thanksgiving dinner with us and Ashley's family. Yes!! Second time I won't be making the turkey in recent years. He hosted once before. Ashley's family couldn't make it on Thanksgiving Day so we will be celebrating with them on Tuesday. Yesterday we invited a friend who would otherwise be alone. Her kids live in Alaska and NYC. We aren't doing anything fancy, but will be sharing a meal together. 🙂

Hey, Susan. I don’t recognize the game you played with your siblings, but obviously you have great memories of those times. Love that you’re going to get together with your DIL’s family, too. Special times for sure. You are kind to invite those who’d otherwise be alone. Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for stopping by. 🙂

Marsha,
That’s one way to encourage people to notice your books by putting them at the end of a blog.
