Canada Day/4th of July

Love that we celebrate these days so close together. Canada Day was yesterday, July 1 and “celebrates the anniversary of the formation of the union of the British North America provinces in a federation under the name of Canada.”  (from https://www.officeholidays.com/holidays/canada/canada-day)
I am privileged to have quite a few friends who live in Canada and am happy to support their celebration.
The 4th of July, celebrates the signing of the US Declaration of Independence which begins: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness.”  When will we live up to these stirring words?

In honor of these two special days, I’m participating in NNLightsbookheaven.com Canada/America Bookish Mini Event. It’s only 4 days and began yesterday, July 1. It runs through July 4th.

    • Hey, Vicki. Oh, my goodness. I want to come to your house. I love cornhole! Don’t get lots of takers from members of my family. LOL We’ll probably have hot dogs. It’s about the only time I eat hot dogs and I love them with lots of mustard, pickles, & onions. Y’all have a great time. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

  1. We will always be working toward the goal of equality for all. It’s a big job, but we can do it now and with our smart future generations.
    Taking a zucchini cake, first of the season, to our daughter’s camping site this a.m. while it’s cool. Will enjoy coffee and cake and then race home to the AC!! Happy 4th of July to you and the family!
