TAINTED and RBG

Welcome to any new followers who got here via my newsletter. Glad to have you. Those of you who regularly follow my blog realize that my 8th book, TAINTED released on Monday of this week, Sept. 21. Oddly, that is the very same day that my 5th book, ACT OF BETRAYAL, Book 3, The Second Chances Series, released in 2017. There was no planning involved in either date just when both books were ready to go. I should research what the release dates for all my books are. Be interesting. For the most part there’s been one each year. One time there was longer than a year, but I wrote a short story for my writing chapter’s anthology and that threw off the annual book.
It’s a good thing I believe in the importance of being a life-long learner. Just this week I experienced one of those “aha” moments when I became aware (thanks to my friend Susan H. Vaughn) that if the links weren’t underlined, they weren’t live! In retrospect, I wonder how I missed that. I knew they needed to be blue, but somehow missed the connection, so my first posts about the release didn’t have the links live. Here’s the corrected post.
I’ve also got a 99 Cent sale of SECOND ACT, Book 1 in the series on Amazon. It’s part of a spotlight for the whole series and will start Friday, Sept. 25. (Look for Links on FB and Twitter) When I set it up, I didn’t realize it would fall at the same time TAINTED released. I’m sure, I’m not as good about that kind of thing, because I no longer use a real calendar for plans. It’s all on my phone. Just harder to see everything.
Next Thursday, October 1, I’ll be doing a LIVE reading from TAINTED on the Facebook group, Romance In Her Prime, where all the heroines have to be over 30. Well, mine all are certainly that being 40 on up and Liz in TAINTED is 50. Now, I’m not worried about doing the reading, because I enjoy reading out loud, but I don’t even have a print copy yet. Still working on that. And I have to practice a lot before I read live, so I will be busy this next week. The time is 8 pm central and will last about 30 minutes with a chance for Q & A. I’m excited to do it and appreciate the invite from Lisa Salvary, the host. I hope you’ll stop by. I’ll remind you next week. 😊
Saturday, Oct. 3 is a LIVE Zoom event for readers. I’ll have more next week about this one.
Now to a seriously more important subject: the loss of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. For a woman of such small stature, her work and wisdom shined a giant light across our country. Though she’s gone, her work and wisdom shines on and will be reflected in the eyes of countless women and young girls inspired to keep on working for justice for all–including men. Justice Ginsburg fought for justice for all.
I try to stay out of politics here. I mean, we’re all just readers and authors. At least I don’t go full boar on it the way I would if I weren’t busy writing. (If I weren’t writing books, I might even run for office again, but don’t tell my husband. 😊) However, I can’t help but remark on the hypocrisy of the Republicans pushing through Justice Ginsburg’s replacement. It seems to me that for rules to work, they ought to apply to everyone equally. Gosh, I think that’s exactly what Ruth Bader Ginsburg fought for all her life. Isn’t that the American way?
So, you may see things differently. That is also the American way. 😊
I need to send a special shoutout to my friend Jen Fitzgerald and her company Storms Edge Technology. They do amazing IT support stuff (like I don’t know exactly what that means) But one of their techs, Brian fixed it so I could now have epub and mobi copies of my books. That’s a really big thing. I cannot tell you how many hours I’ve unsuccessfully worked on this issue. Big thanks, Jen and Brian.
If you read TAINTED, and enjoy the story, please leave a review. Apologies for the recent heavy hitting on marketing. With the book release there’s just a lot going on. Thanks for understanding. Love to hear from you.

    • Hey, JQ. Yes, it’s crazy busy, but won’t always be this way. Once I go into writing mode again, things will quiet down. I love that we’ve know each other for so many years of our writing career. Can’t wait to read your memoir. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
