I am so excited to tell you that we’ve gotten our Pfizer Booster. On Saturday afternoon. Didn’t feel this one either. Signed up on the CVS website, which had been updated to accommodate those of us over 65. (I’ve never been so glad to be over 65!) LOL Got through Sunday School, church, and lunch just fine. Then I cratered.
If you’ve ever experienced allergy tired, you know what I’m talking about. Your whole body stops. I got in the recliner and didn’t move for about two hours. Now full disclosure here, I have been known to take an hour long afternoon nap. But this was different. I didn’t have energy to lift my arms. They were like dead weight. But again, sometimes allergies knock me out this way. Yes, I had some soreness when I raised my arm up Saturday and Sunday, but by Monday, all was super.
The best part is the sense of relief I feel. I think I’ll be able to eat inside a restaurant now. I’ve really not been comfortable doing that, even if the servers wore masks. And I gotta tell you I’ve missed eating in restaurants and eating with friends.
For the whole of this pandemic, I’ve been terrified I’d end up in a hospital on a ventilator and die. So I’ve been super cautious. At the beginning, I even sent Bob to the grocery store until I learned to order online. (He was very sweet to go. When he went back to the office, I started going myself, wearing my mask.) The Booster has taken away that awful feeling of dread.
Maybe it’s my imagination that hurts me in these kinds of situations because I can see the awfulness play out in my head. Great for writing books, not so much if you don’t want to scare yourself. 🙂
Anyway, we are triple shot now, and I’m a happy camper.
I had a great time at the Isn’t It Romantic Book Club Fall Into a Book Giveaway on Friday and have sent out the prizes. Thanks to everyone who played along. I definitely do this again next year.
I’m also happy that I’ve got someone working on a trailer for COMPROMISE. I’ll tell you who when I can share it. The e-book is ready to be Pre-ordered for $1.99 beginning on Oct. 17–Nov. 3 with the release date on Nov. 4 when the book price will be $4.99. I’m waiting to get a sample print copy to decide if it’s ready to go. Very exciting.
I’ve got a new graphic I want to share. For some reason, it dawned on my I have 3 books set in New England, and that might catch some people’s attention. Love Canva.

Glad you have had a booster. I’m getting a flu shot next week. I have to wait on booster for a few more months.

Hey, Vicki. Yes for you younger people it takes a while. 🙂 Glad you’re getting your flu shot. We did that, too. Besides the Covid shots, the thing I was most grateful for was the Shingles shot. My mom had a friend who suffered horribly from that. I’d have done almost anything to avoid that experience. Thanks so much for stopping by. 🙂

Good for you, Marsha. We will get our booster when the Moderna booster comes out. Looking forward to when our grandsons can get their vaccinations also.
After staying at home for 1.5 years because of Covid, we are pretty much booked through the third week of October, which is great. Then the holidays will be here.

I’m glad you’ve got your boosters now. Up here we’re getting vax cards if we want to go to restaurants or, gasp, a live concert! Sadly, I think we have more people infected or in ICU, than ever The antivaxers are protesting and threatening to take everyone to court for taking away their right to do whatever they want. It’s lovely to meet with friends in a restaurant though.

Hey, Pat. I have friends from here visiting the Quebec area and when I asked her, she said the same thing. You couldn’t go in a restaurant without showing your card. I thought wow! How wonderful that would be. I’d love to go to a restaurant and feel safe. Now, I mostly still insist on being outdoors. Y’all are so much safer up there than some parts of the lower 48. Unfortunately, I live in one of the worst parts for being Covid safe. The naysayers have drunk the Kool Aid, and you just can’t reason with them. We can keep praying they will get it. I think the best we can do is hold the door open and shine a little light on those who have swallowed the koolaid. In the meantime we have so much more than we did a year ago! Vaccinations which allow us to meet in person, to actually go in a store and shop although online will stay a much more common experience than before. And hopefully sooner rather than later there will be vaccinations for all school age children!

Hey, Pat. Yes, indeed. So happy about vaccinations and will be glad when my granddaughter gets hers. We spend a couple of afternoons together most weeks, and we both have to stay masked. My heart aches for folks working in the medical profession or any of the service jobs where they wear a mask for 8 hours straight. I’m grateful for my masks and now I always smile at others wearing theres. (I know they can’t see my smile, but I hope it reaches my eyes.) Thanks so much for stopping by. 🙂
