Have Books Will Travel

Those of you of a certain age will remember the old TV show called “Have Gun Will Travel.” The lead character, Paladin, played by Richard Boone, was a gunslinger for hire, but he had a heart of gold. And the show had a great theme song. Can you hear it? I can. 🙂

Well, I’m beginning several months of feeling like Paladin with Book Signings and Events.

This Friday, Feb. 9, I’ll be at the Haltom City Public Library for the Night of Romance. For several years, they have recognized local Texas authors of romance around Valentine’s Day. They have chocolate, fake champagne, roses, games, and authors who also bring baskets that the readers have a chance to win. Many authors read from our books. It’s a totally fun evening, and sometimes we sell a few books. 😊

These authors will be there with me: Jerrie Alexander, Clover Autrey, Suzan Butler, Holly Hudspeth, Mia London, Sylvia Mc Daniel, Kym Roberts, CA Szarek, and Carolyn Rae.

March 6, I think I’ve got a radio interview on Texas Authors Radio. Will keep you posted on that.

Saturday March 10, you’ll be able to find me at the Lewisville Public Library along with other authors who write all sorts of things. Lewisville is a hike for me, but since it’s on Saturday 1-4, the traffic won’t be as bad.

Wednesday, March 21, I’m presenting at the Woman’s Club Renaissance section about how I’ve re-invented myself. That will be fun. I havn’t put the presentation together yet, but ideas are floating around in my head.

Friday, March 23, Bob and I will drive down to Galveston for the Texas Authors, Inc. Book Festival, which is all day Saturday and we’ll return on Sunday. Galveston is such a fun, historic town.

Then I can catch my breath before heading off for south

On June 8-9, we’ll go to Wimberly, Texas down near Austin for another Texas Authors, Inc. Book Festival.

Poor Charley will be spending a lot of time at his Vets. ☹ They love him and will take good care of him there.IMG_4882

Do you remember the old TV show? Do you go to Book Signings? How far will you drive for a book signing? And sometime during all of this, I have to write book 4 in the series. I’m also in the process of putting up ACT OF BETRAYAL on iTunes. Busy, busy time. But all should be fun.

I’m almost entirely over my cold, though it has drawn on and on. Still I’m luckier than many others. Love to hear from you.

  1. Hey, Marsha – Bon Voyages! Y’all please travel safely.

    I remember the show well.

Did you ever see the movie “Stand By Me” – based on Stephen King’s novella “The Body”? Set in the late ’50s or early ’60s, the pre-teen boys are singing the Paladin theme during their trek – “Have Gun Will Travel reads the card of a man … A knight without honor in a savage land ….” Great movie. And one of King’s best pieces, IMHO.

Best to you and Bob –

    • Hey, Dan. I remember seeing the movie, but didn’t pick up on them singing the theme. Ever sense I wrote those words for the blog, I’ve had an ear-worm for the song. I mean all the time. LOL Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

  2. I remember the TV show, but I don’t think I ever watched it. Glad I don’t know the song. No ear worm!! Hey, you have a fab time in your travels. Sounds like a lot of fun and traveling. I look forward to doing book signings this year now that my mysteries are all in print. Glad you’re feeling better!
