We had Spring Break over a week ago now, but I didn’t get to share many pics from the trip I took to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens with my youngest granddaughter. We had near about perfect weather, breezy in the low 70s. We totally enjoyed the Butterfly Gardens, the Main Gardens with a super section for kids (and adults) and insects, and the Japanese Gardens.
Because I’m really behind with my WIP, the Unnamed Book 10, I’m going to be short on words and long on pictures for this post. 🙂
First row below: A few of the pics I took of butterflies. Just gorgeous. We had to be careful not to step on them.
The second tier is the main gardens. Later in the year, you’d see roses in the first pic.
The third line is from the Japanese Gardens. Sarah made the little miniature Zen Garden. There was a giant one on the ground.
We found giant insects all around the gardens. This praying mantis caught our attention. We stayed away from the giant ants. Sarah is allergic to them. 🙂

Hey, Vicki. I went to one in Branson, MO that had so many butterlies just all over everywhere. They’d even land on you. It was really the best thing. This year was rough on the FW butterflies. Beautiful photos. Love the praying mantis sculpture too. Yes, we have a gorgeous botanical garden about an hour from us, Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. Did you see the butterflies out in the park or were they in an enclosed building? The Butterflies Exhibit is currently there, but since it is cold in Michigan, the butterflies are in a greenhouse. We love seeing them. We haven’t been lately because there is so much walking. There is a shuttle too around the park because it is so large. And oh the sculptures are amazing! Hey, J.Q. I’m not surprised you love botanic gardens. The butterflies were in a separate building with the safe doors where you go in and there are guards, The doors close, and then the next doors open to let you inside of the structure. They also checked us as we left to make sure we didn’t get out with a wayward butterfly somewhere on our person. Not nearly as many butterflies as I’ve seen at another butterfly museum, but we had some extremely cold weather and were glad to see any at all. I didn’t realize we had a shuttle, but saw it when we were leaving the Japanese Gardens part. If it had been hot, I’d have considered that, but the weather was perfect. The gardens sound lovely, Marsha! We have a butterfly garden near us. Harlow Carr Gardens near us in Yorkshire, run by the Royal Horticultural Society, is amazing and a wonderful place to visit. They managed to create a sub-tropical area, even in our temps https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/harlow-carr/garden-highlights/sub-tropicana-garden
